Notes
The NV Asuncion Oloroso is produced from Pedro Ximenez grapes fortified to 18% to avoid the appearance of flor and aged for an average of 12 years in a soleras and criaderas system. It's medium to dark amber-colored with a bright rim. The honeyed, fruity, fresh young nose is redolent of candied orange skin, noble woods and hazelnut shells. The warm palate is medium to full-bodied, with abundant flavors of walnuts and hazelnuts, and a long, warm finish. A very good introduction to Oloroso. 15,000 half-bottles are produced each year.Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate
