Il Piccolo Podere del Ceppaiolo is a project by Danilo Marcucci and Riccardo Pennaforti to protect the winemaking memory of a land, through the preservation of one of the oldest vineyards in Umbria, the Ceppaiolo. Composed of only 4 rows of native Umbrian varieties. A captivating nose of apricot nectar, peach skins, preserved oranges, cooked chestnuts, lemon and black tea. This is a wine you could spend the evening with, swirling it around and watching it evolve. It's a wine to chew on, tea-like tannins create grip and stone fruits and orange-citrus notes sit nicely in the background. For sure a thinker and not a throw-back.
