A vineyard reinvigorated by Ryan Ponsford and family. Twenty year old vines that had gone to blackberry and other weed, now in better shape. Willow Grove is its name.
Ohh, a delight. Cherry and cranberry tang, crisp, a powdery feel to texture too, the rough side of satin and some fine ribbons of tannin to finish. Refreshing pinot noir. Bright and lifted pinot noir. A spicy character and the finish is all about that, clove and cinnamon dust in spades. It’s a wine that feels made in shapes like crystal cut glass. So very youthful, precise and tight and yet it expands as it flows along the palate. Doing so many things in a single glass. Super stuff.
