Notes
"Tasted alongside the 2019 Block 6, for context, and just because it’s a pretty nice thing to do. Sexy winemaker, Duncan Kennedy, says this is one of his favourite vintages of Hillside, and who am I to argue? 1922 six packs produced.
Liquorice, biscuits, iodine and black fruit, with spicy nutty oak neatly folded in. It’s deep and saline, with plenty of iron through it, firm and earthy with a tight grained dark chocolate feel to tannin, potent, but still fresh, all the bramble fruit and a powerful black olive laced finish of vigour and intensity. Rugged beauty, and so ‘of a place’. Unique, truly."
