Notes
The 2016 was syrah and temp and the like, this Clare Red is cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot, cabernet franc and malbec, from three vineyards, and a touch ripe at 12.9% versus 12%, and the difference (tasted side by side) is notable in structure and definition. This trumps the prior.Fleshy red of juiciness and bright, crisp red and black berry fruit characters. Bouncy and almost tart in the palate, vivacious, young, fresh red of vivacity and crunchy texture. Light on in a way too, but has a cool, ease to drinking. Soft cassis and dark berries, touch of mintiness to close, maybe liquorice too. Real nice drinking. Fun stuff with a bit more to ponder.92 PointsTasted : MAR18Mike Bennie - The Wine Front
