Sauvignon blanc from Neil Hawkins and family The Wine Farm, though this maybe the last we see of sauvignon blanc from here as the farm has been gradually grafted away to a narrower bandwidth of varieties.
Fragrant wine style, as expected, but not very ‘sauvignon blancy’ with sea spray, green apple and only a faint whiff of tropical fruits. Crisp textured, more savvy bee in flavours, green herbs, grassiness, passionfruit, but again, the saline minerality kicks in and there’s a grippy, crushed rock-like finish. Delicious.
