Notes
Winemakers notes. Intense colour and a fruity nose, this blend delivers a sophisticated taste. Brilliant red fruit taste, accompanied by flavours of apricot and plum. The body is substantial, the mouth feel is velvety. This wine has a long, soft finish. The Malbec grapes for the Navigato Family Selection come from our La Consulta "Old Vines" vineyard. La Consulta "Old Vines" has the oldest of our Malbec vines, planted between 1947 and 1965. 2009 marks the first vintage of our top wine blended by our consulting winemaker, Attilio Pagli of Tuscany, Italy. The year was excellent for growing outstanding Malbec grapes. The extreme heat in part of January and February was not beneficial for our Merlot vines at La Consulta "Old Vines", so we decided not to include it in the 2009 wine.
