Notes
"WKR=White Kangaroo Road. 22 year old vines from the Coal River Valley. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a white kangaroo. Though perhaps like the Thylacine, the idiot white settlers killed them all? Well, OK, I just talked to my better half, who’s spent a bit of time in Cenny Vic, and she tells me that she’s seen a few white kangaroos. Gee, this makes me feel so English, and a bit of a Skip, pun intended. Anyway…
This is a different and very good expression of Pinot Noir. It smells of concrete, black tea and chai, violets, raspberry and cherry. It’s firm and tannic, bright in acidity, cherry and damp earthy things, so well etched and ‘minerally’ with sap and perfume on a finish of superb length. There’s some pimento/paprika and roast red capsicum too, and a little blood orange in the aftertaste. I love this wine. So distinct. So beautiful to drink. Yes! I’m touch and go for 96 points here."
