Notes
The last release (the 2019) was, to my mind, the finest and most exciting Gamay we opened all year, eclipsing even the 'big 4' names of Beaujolais. I am looking forward to personally buying and drinking some of these ASAP. Check back for tasting notes - Liam “A low metabolism year”, explains Nick Mills, “really dry spring, cool summer, so low crops and low vigour and low ripening through to end of the season. All the nutrition comes from the activity in the soils, and without irrigation there was less happening under ground – it results in pretty, high acid wines, but not the warmth and give of more typical seasons”. Glossy and yet with crispness, a tart cherry juice slosh and layers and layers of dried and fresh herb, white pepper, light truffle notes and a building, fine and lacy tension of tannins to the mouth-watering and firming finish. Wildly drinkable, faint funky, but a complex, detailed wine at the same time. Superb balance, would be the ultimate comment – light, fresh, fine and ethereal in its carriage of scents and flavours. Wow factor." 95 Points Mike Bennie - The Wine Front
